CD Tech Link is an education and study center for neighborhood
kids. The center occupies a corner site on Central Avenue south of
downtown Los Angeles. Key concerns for the group were identity,
security, lighting on the street and partial privacy for the open
computer classroom. Working with logos and other previous
graphic work, Kaplan Chen Kaplan created an updated logo and
signage as well as a set of projections over the storefronts for
partial shading, lighting and additional graphics. The storefront
windows have a graduated film pattern to allow for visual
connection with a degree of visual privacy. New lighting, signage
and painting will rrevitalize the corner location and position CD
Tech Link as a catalyst for rehabilitaton in the neighborhood.
