Kaplan Chen Kaplan has been working with the Redevelopment Agency of the City of Long Beach for design and rehabilitation of building facades. The project at this urban corner is for an important but underutilized commercial area in the middle of new housing and a specialty shopping district. We utilized imagery from earlier stores in Long Beach in order for the new design to be compatible with surrounding historic buildings and to evoke the spirit of the original active shopping streets. All projects are subject to review by the Redevelopment Agency, the City of Long Beach Planning Department and the City’s Historic Preservation Officer.
