The Dance Building at UCLA is being seismically rehabilitated and adapted to Performing Arts with conversion of the Gymnasium to multi-functional theater space and addition of a new outdoor pavilion.  Kaplan Chen Kaplan served as Historic Architect to the University, participating in design phases and review with SHPO and other regulatory agencies.  We consulted on a range of issues including accessibility, placement of new structure, methods of protection and extent of re-use of lobby finishes. We have also provided technical specifications for treatment of historic materials and finishes.
